What the Managers Say

Tactics Watch

  • Key threats: Bowen & Summerville’s pace out wide, Paquetá & Fernandes creativity inside

  • Weakness: Hammers have conceded 8 goals from corners already this campaign

  • Dec 2022: Arsenal 3-1 West Ham (Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah after Benrahma opener)

MY View

At minute 70 at St James Park, honestly i started to lose confidence. That win was hands down a transformative moment for what i believe we can achieve this season. Controversial penalty turns against us, going down against the run on play and yet we didn't give up and won with a last minute goal from the very player who was at fault when we conceded. I SCREAMED.
Nuno is a great manager but we cant let West Ham win 3 times in a row at the Emirates. Rice needs to control his emotions as he rarely plays well against them. Im going for a score on 2-1. When i look at last season the teams we struggled against were: Aston villa, west ham, Fulham etc. Crystal Palace hasn't lost in 18 games so i don't buy this "easy run" I think Eze + Odegaard can unlock our low block issue. What do you think?

Arsenal vs Olympiacos

3 Things We Learned From The Game

  1. Ødegaard’s roaming role fuels fluidity – His movement across the pitch dragged defenders out of position and opened lanes, with his quick passing enabling more adventurous runs. Vital against West Ham’s low block.
  2. Timber staking claim at right-back – Outstanding one-on-one defending and growing attacking threat make him hard to drop. White’s rusty return only underlined Timber’s superiority.
  3. Finishing still the missing piece – Chances created but wasted vs Olympiacos. Gyokores impressed with hold-up play but lacked end product. Ruthlessness needed to break West Ham’s defensive setup.
