Scout Report

Team News & Injury Updates

Arsenal:

  • Unavailable: Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli (hamstring injuries), alongside Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
  • Return: Ben White is back in the matchday squad following knee surgery.

Leicester City:

  • Available: Jamie Vardy, Jannik Vestergaard, and Victor Kristiansen have recovered from minor ailments after missing the previous cup loss. Patson Daka is fit for selection after limping off in that game.
  • Unavailable: Ricardo Pereira (hamstring injury) and Issahaku Fatawu (long-term ACL injury).

Leicester's Strengths:

  • Bilal El Khannouss: Operates effectively as a No.10, offering both a scoring threat and creative impetus; his dynamism can unsettle any defence.
  • Kristiansen (Left-back): A key provider, known for his successful deliveries into the box (19 effective crosses in open play). His crosses often target Jamie Vardy, who has a notable record of finding the net against Arsenal.

Leicester's Vulnerabilities:

  • Home Scoring Drought: Failure to score in recent home matches makes them susceptible to opponents adept at set pieces and aerial duels.
  • Aerial Defence: Conceding more headed goals than any other side this season highlights an area that Arsenal’s aerial threats—particularly Mikel Merino and Gabriel—can exploit.

My View

Man City game was an unbelievable win. I think we have finally stopped being their little brother. Newcastle seem to be one of our bogey teams. There are a handful of teams that Arteta just cant get past. Aston Villa is another one. We need to find a way to get past them and for me, a striker would be the difference.
I should be celebrating the Liverpool draw but we were actually on the loosing end of news this week! Havertz & Martinelli injuries are catastrophic to the little title hopes we have. Our boards decision not to strengthen in summer was strange and has back fired. We spent 5+ Arteta years preparing to challenge for a title and then in our strongest position, we drop the ball in 2 consecutive transfer windows??
For Leicester, who will be our front 3? I have a feeling we may see something strange like Merino taking on that Havertz role. Winning duels, being the target man. He has tried it before and i hated it!
Prediction
Arsenal 2-0 Leicester - Set pieces (Gabriel & Merino)
p.s If Real Madrid get Saliba i will lose my S*#t

Arsenal Vs Man City

3 Things We Learned From The Game

  1. Arsenal dismantled Manchester City 5–1 through an aggressive high press that disrupted City’s build-up and forced turnovers.
  2. The team’s tactical setup saw players like Partey dropping deep, which helped control the midfield and cut off City’s passing lanes.
  3. Individual performances stood out, with Declan Rice orchestrating play and young talents Skelly and Ethan showing no fear.
