Mikel Arteta on how long Partey will be out for: “Hopefully it’s weeks. How many weeks it will depend a little bit on how long the next step of training with the team will take him, but he’s progressing well.” #afc https://twitter.com/afcstuff/status/1743404435328426476

Mikel Arteta on Partey not being called up for the AFCON: “It was about common sense. He has a long-term injury & he really wanted to push his rehab. He really wanted to be with the national team but he is still far from training with the team & it didn’t make a lot of sense for… https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1743404435328426476

Tierney On Return Rumours

Fanzone - Michael

What do you think?

Both Saka and Martinelli starting positions are always so wide…. They are responsible for both creating width…. And progressing play into dangerous attacking third areas all game… they have the dual responsibility of being primary creators and goalscorers in the team…. We have 2 8’s in Kai and ode, neither over or under lap, ode is dropping very much deeper so far this season which is helping with control, Kai makes off the ball runs into the final 3rd nearly all game but offers minimal combination play to unlock either GJ or Martinelli on that side. The team essentially is setup to overload centrally and when this isn’t working, we look for the far post ball all game. The setup for me does not maximise getting saka or Martinelli into dangerous goalscoring positions.

Scout Report

  • Arsenal have won the FA Cup more often than any other team. They have played three finals against Liverpool, winning two.
  • Salah will miss game due to International duty
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold (player to watch), playing right-back, moves into central midfield to create overloads, leaving space on the flanks. Martinelli in transition needs to exploit this
  • At Anfield, they maintain a high possession rate (64.8%), while away, it drops to 55.5%, indicating less control & counter-attacks.

Predicted Lineup

MY View

Recent setbacks with two league defeats leaving us five points off the top are concerning. Our expectations after last season's title chase and significant investments make these losses feel more impactful. Injuries to key players have hit us hard, exposing our lack of depth compared to rivals like City and Liverpool. Additionally, Havertz and Rice, not known for taking risks or passing between lines, lead to Martinelli and Saka often facing two settled banks of four. Offensively, we lack variety and a Plan B. Fatigue from competing in the Champions League with a lean squad might also be affecting our performance. Despite this, I remain hopeful.
Let me know what you think! Arsenal are giving me high blood pressure.

Fulham Vs Arsenal

3 Things We Learned From The Game

  1. Arsenal's reluctance to play risky passes makes it difficult for them to break down low blocks and create opportunities.
  2. Arsenal struggle to create good quality chances without a player at the base of the Midfield who's going to make immediate quick incisive through balls.
  3. Arteta's changes in the game may have contributed to the team's problems in progressing the ball into dangerous areas.
